November 5, 2021 by Brian Stahl

Donalsonville, Ga- Cold front conditions met the 108 teams competing in the 2021 Xtreme Bass Series Championship at Lake Seminole in Donalsonville, GA for day 1. Gusty winds, dropping temperatures, and rainy skies made for a tough bite. But the team of Mike Jackson and Matt Kinney seemingly figured out something none of the other teams were able to find. The duo leads the event with a 26.55 pound, 5 bass limit. They are poised to take home the top prize of a Blazer 595 Pro Elite powered by a Mercury 200 Pro XS valued at $40,000.00.

They have a more than 7 pound lead over the second place team of Bryant Allen and Dempsey Allen. The Suwannee River duo weighed 18.91 pounds to keep themselves in contention. Reigning Team of the Year Jim Folks and Jeremy Smith sit in third place with 18.20 pounds. Rounding out the top 5 are Derek Daniels & Michael Johnson with 17.85 pounds and Trever Stephens & Tim Parker with 17.40 pounds.

Foy Underwood and David Sims weighed the Day 1 Big Bass, a 7.43 pound Lake Seminole lunker and will be taking home $780.00 for that prize. Jim Folks and Jeremy Smith took 2nd Big Bass honors for the day with a 7.33 pounder worth $300.00.
