Team Bass Assassin, Robin Shiver and Syler Prince, walked way with the victory in the 2022 Wolfson Childrenâs Hospital VIP & Friends Bass Tournament. Shiver and Prince weighed a 19.15 pound, 5 bass limit to top the 83 boat field. Most of the morning was a struggle according to Shiver. “About middle of the day it really picked up. We were catching them on a 7.5 inch black/blue Tap out,” stated Shiver, referring to Bass Assassin’s trick worm style bait. “We both stuck it out, we both threw the same bait and kept on casting,” added Prince. Shiver and Prince earned $1,000.00 for the victory
Danny Inabnett & Randy Sievert from Florida’s Family Marine secured a second place finish with a 19.10 pound, 5 bass limit, narrowly missing that top spot by .05 ounces. Third place went to the team of Edwin Smith and Jace Stokes thanks to a 17.12 pound, 5 bass limit. Smith and Stokes anchored their bag with the dayâs overall Big Bass, a 6.51 pound St. Johnâs River kicker to earn a total of $1,600.00.
Rounding out the Top 5 was the team of Stanley O’Neal and Christopher O’Neal in fourth place with 16.16 pounds ($500.00), and the team of Casen Crews and Johnny Ray in fifth place with 14.99 pounds ($250.00)
The Wolfson Childrenâs Hospital Bass Tournament week kicks off with the Lads and Lasses tournament on Thursday, followed by the VIP and Friendâs tournament on Friday. Saturday is when all the real fun begins with the 33rd Annual Wolfson Childrenâs Hospital Bass Tournament.
Since 1989, the Tournament has helped Wolfson Childrenâs Hospital fund specialized treatments, lifesaving technology, and capital improvements. The Plant Facilities Department at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville organized and launched the tournament as a vehicle to fund capital improvements and acquisition of advanced technology. From its inception, the Tournament has raised more than $6 million for Wolfson Childrenâs.
This yearâs event is focused on funding life-saving equipment and technology in the C. Herman and Mary Virginia Terry Heart Institute at Wolfson Childrenâs Hospital.
Baptist Health will match a portion of all gifts to the Wolfson Childrenâs Hospital Bass Tournament for the Wolfson Bass Tournament Endowment Fund.
This yearâs goal is to raise $500,000.00. One of the ways you can help is by purchasing tickets for a chance to win a new Bullet 21XRS powered by a Mercury 250 Pro XS. Tickets are $10.00 a piece and can be purchased online here.
