A 23 boat field took to Rodman Reservoir for the North River division’s third event of the season on March 4th. Joey Pate and William Barnett took the win with an almost 6 pound margin of victory! Pate and Barnett weighed a 5 bass limit that hit 18.13 pounds on the display. They anchored their winning bag with a 5.84 pound kicker, earning the Big Bass award for the event. Steve Smith and Ryan Gleason finished in second place with a 12.57 pound, 5 bass limit.  Jason Burgess and Michael Androlevich took home a third place finish with a 12.31 pound, 5 bass limit. Rounding out the Top 5 were the teams of Chad Herring & Kurt Johnson in fourth place with 12.27 pounds, followed by James Romig & Colton Morris in fifth place with 12.27 pounds.

The next event for the North River division is scheduled for Saturday March 25th at Palatka

George Short and Junior Solis inked their second win in a row at the third event for the Garcia division on March 4th. Short and Solis topped the 17 boat field by weighing a 20.74 pound, 5 bass limit. Rick Henthorne and George Margis took home a second place finish with a 20.07 pound, 5 bass limit. Mike Akers and Roger Shelley secured a third place finish with a 16.11 pound bag. Rounding out the Top 5 were the teams of Pat Kelly and Cecil Cole in fourth place with 16.03 pounds, followed by Rick Mulder and Brad Gibson in fifth place with 15.55 pounds. Short and Solis also took home Big Bass of the event with a 6.53 pound kicker.

The Garcia division will go back to back weeks for the next divisional events, on Sunday March 26th and Sunday April 2nd.

Kevin Lucas (L) & Lance Nelson

The John’s Lake division rolled out on March 5th with a 26 boat field. Kevin Lucas and Lance Nelson bested the crowd with a 17.31 pound, 5 bass limit. Kody Keller and Ethan Shelton finished the day in second place with a 16.82 pound, 5 bass limit. Third place went to the team of Justin Jones and Robert Glass with a 16.45 pound, 5 bass limit. Rounding out the Top 5 were the teams of Greg Berry and Jim Kornaker in fourth place with 14.67 pounds, followed by the team of Jason Foss and Brendan Sanders in fifth place with 14.37 pounds. Berry and Kornaker weighed an 8.37 pound TrophyCatch quality bass to win Big Bass of the event honors.

The next event for the John’s Lake division is scheduled for Sunday April 2nd.

Jamie Stephens (R) and Jim Stephens

Jamie Stephens and Jim Stephens bested a 25 boat field for the Istokpoga division on March 4th. The father-son duo weighed a 19.86 pound, 5 bass limit to take home the win. Chris Welch and Tedd Welch set a 17.74 pound, 5 bass limit on the scales to take home a second place finish. Third place went to the team of John Och and Alex Usry, who weighed a 17.69 pound, 5 bass limit. Rounding out the Top 5 were the teams of Dan Taranto and Travis Tritscler in fourth place with 17.49 pounds, followed by Jon Arale and Greg Yoshida in fifth place with 16.07 pounds. Big Bass of the event went to the team of Kyle Wieczorck and Carl Wieczorck with a 6.33 pound kicker.

The next event for the Istokpoga division is scheduled for Sunday April 2nd.

Thomas Oltorik

Thomas Oltorik topped the South River division out of Lake Monroe. Oltorik bested a 10 boat field solo with a 26.09 pound, 5 bass limit. Dylan Westhelle and Joey Bloom earned a second place finish with a 24.88 pound, 5 bass limit. John Kremer and Earl Lytle finished the day in third place with 13.76 pounds. Rounding out the Top 5 were the teams of Mike Sikes and Robbie Engle in fourth place with 13.16 pounds, followed by Steve Bishop and Buddy Cohrs in fifth place with 10.92 pounds. Westhelle and Bloom locked in the Big Bass award with an 8.05 pound TrophyCatch.

The next event for the South River division is scheduled for Sunday April 2nd.

Geoff Wells (L) and Barrett Wells

The father and son team of Geoff Wells and Barrett Wells secured a hard earned victory at the March 12th Kissimmee divisional event; 42 teams set out of Camp Mack for the second event of the division. The Wells’ set a 26.12 pound, 5 bass limit to take home the win. Micah Silverman and Russ Osborne finished the day in second place with a 25.59 pound, 5 bass limit. Third place went to the team of John Stahl and Casey Gonzalez with a 25.31 pound, 5 bass limit. Rounding out the Top 5 were the teams of Anthony Cilladi and Shelton Smith in fourth place with 25.27 pounds, followed by the father and son team of Ryan Cooper and Ty Cooper in fifth place with 23.50 pounds. Bryan Purkey and Stephen Purkey weighed a 9.98 pound Lake Kissimmee TrophyCatch to take home the Big Bass honor.

The next event for the Kissimmee division is scheduled for Sunday April 16th.

Announcement of Rescheduled Events

Suwannee River has two dates rescheduled. The February 19th event will now be held on March 26th. The March 5th event will now be held on May 7th. 

Citrus Division has one date rescheduled. The April 24th event at Lake Henderson has been pushed to April 30th.

Kissimmee Division had to postpone the February 12th event due to high winds. The makeup event for that event will be held June 4th.

The Xtreme Bass Series is the largest grassroots bass tournament trail across Florida, featuring 12 divisions and 108 events throughout the season. Anglers can compete in close-to-home events on local bodies of water, keeping costs down and affording them the opportunity to compete in the end of season championship. Teams who compete in 7 of 9 events in one division, or 8 events in a combination of divisions will qualify for the end of season championship event. The 2023 Championship will be held November 2-4 on the Harris Chain of Lakes.
