Christian Smith and Justin Strickland are $4,000.00 richer after competing in the 2025 GSM Outdoors Battle of the Brands bass tournament at Lake Guntersville. Smith and Strickland topped a 37 boat field on the world renowened fishery with a 24.22 pound, 5 bass limit. Smith and Strickland gave the nod to a Buckeye Mop Jig to catch their winnning bag. “We caught every one of our fish on that jig,” stated Smith. Strickland also noted those were the only 5 bites they had all day.
The GSM Outdoors Battle of the Brands is a unique event, allowing anglers to use only brands under the GSM umbrella found on www.Baits.com. The format gives anglers a tougher choice in what baits to throw, making it a true battle between family brands.
Lavoyd Lemmond and Mike Black took home Big Bass honors with an 8.67 pound lunker. Black, who boated the Big Bass, noted he caught the prized winning fish on a Buckeye Jig with the newly re-released Yamamoto Sanshouo.
