Xtreme Bass Series is Florida's largest grassroots tournament trail, offering local events for anglers to compete on their home waters. Since 2005, we've been committed to providing non-professional anglers a platform to compete for top payouts and prizes.
The Journey of Xtreme Bass Series
In 2004, Mike Blocher, after acquiring the assets of a defunct tournament trail, embarked on a new venture - Xtreme Bass Series. With years of experience in the fishing industry as the marketing director for both e-Angler and X-Tools, along a vision to provide working-class, grassroots anglers a platform to compete locally, Mike, alongside his business partner Glen Snipes, laid the foundation of Xtreme Bass Series.
The aim was to minimize travel expenses while providing broad coverage. The first season in 2005 saw the creation of various divisions across Florida, each with its own schedule. The season concluded with a championship where Gary Neimi and Rowdy Ellerbee emerged as the first-ever Xtreme Bass Series Champions, taking home a new Stratos/Evinrude boat as the top prize.
The merger with Scott Scarboro and Florida Bass Trail propelled Xtreme Bass Series into becoming the largest grassroots non-professional tournament trail in Florida. In 2010, Mike brought Brian Stahl onboard to assist in event promotion and execution. An aspiring tournament fisherman, Stahl quickly found his footing in the operational side of the events. Following Mike's unfortunate passing in August 2021, Brian took over the operations of Xtreme Bass Series, continuing to grow the organization with passion and humility.
The Role of Divisional Directors
Over the years, while different events and anglers have come and gone, it's the divisional directors of Xtreme Bass Series who have been the driving force behind our success. Each division has a dedicated director to ensure smooth operations at each local event. Be sure to thank them for their hard work in running their events.
The Championship
At the end of each season, all qualifying teams are invited to compete in the multi-day championship event. This event features a catered dinner, raffle prizes, sponsor showcases, and of course, fishing. The top team at the championship earns bragging rights and a new boat/motor/trailer package.
