Divisional Points Champions set to compete for Fitzgerald Fishing Team of the Year Title

The 2024 Blazer Boats Xtreme Bass Series Championship presented by Mercury Marine and Visit Florida’s Putnam County is an exciting event in itself. Qualified teams from all over Florida, and a few from out of state, will be converging upon the St. Johns River in Putnam County for a chance to compete for over $100,000.00 in cash and prizes. However, there are 14 teams who will have the opportunity to compete in a tournament within a tournament, so to speak. The 14 divisional points champions will compete against one another for the Fitzgerald Fishing Team of the Year title. How will they win the title? Simply be the highest finishing divisional points champion at the championship event. The Team of the Year will not only earn the free entries into one division of their choice next season, a $1,080 value, but each angler will also receive a prize package from Fitzgerald Fishing.

Central Florida: Andrew Ready & Trever Stephens

The team of Andrew Ready and Trever Stephens have been contenders for the Team of the Year title in the past, winning the division title in 2023. Teams competing in the Central Florida division have to put in time throughout the season in the as each event is held on a different body of water. Ready and Stephens took home the win at the South Winter Haven Chain, Lake Parker, and Lake Marion. They edged out the points title by a mere 5 points.

Citrus: Eddie Englehart & Greg Hughes

Like the Central Florida division, the Citrus Division bounced around lake to lake throughout 2024, competing on 5 different lakes in rotation. Eddie Englehart and Greg Hughes took the top spot in the Citrus division this season. Englehart and Hughes took home a win at Lake Henderson in the 5th event of the season, and a pair of second place finishes to close out the season, taking the points title by only 4 points.

Garcia: Bobby Hiers & Mike Bell

Bobby Hiers and Mike Bell secured the Garcia points title, closing out the final event of the season with a win. Hiers and Bell took home the top spot in a total of 3 events, in January, May, and September.

Harris Chain: Colbie Cagle & Braden Robinson

The Harris Chain was back on the schedule this season after a record breaking turnout at the 2023 championship. Colbie Cagle and Braden Robinson took the division, winning 2 of 9 events, along with a few of top 3 finishes.

Istokpoga: Coleman Roberts & Corey Roberts

New to the Istokpoga Division this season was the team of Coleman Roberts and Corey Roberts. The Roberts’ were able to secure the division by winning 4 of 9 events in February, March, June, and July.

Johns Lake: Billy Charland & Don Fisher

Billy Charland and Don Fisher started the season with a second place finish, then went on to win 3 events in a row, capping the season off with their fourth win, to secure the points race in the Johns Lake division.

Kissimmee: John Stahl & Casey Gonzalez

John Stahl and Casey Gonzalez stayed consistent all season in the Kissimmee division to take the points title. Stahl and Gonzalez only won one event and took home a second place finish in their division title.

Okeechobee: Kane Weekley & Salt Weekley

Kane Weekley and Salt Weekley were consistent in the Okeechobee division as well. The Weekley’s had a handful of top 5 finishes before finally taking a win in the eighth event of the season. That win was the difference as they edged out the points title by only one point.

Orange Lake: Joe Yarborough & Dewayne Moore

Joe Yarborough and Dewayne Moore started the season at the Orange Lake division with a win. Yarborough and Moore stayed consistent enough throughout the year, with a handful of top 5 finishes, to claim the division points title.

Santa Fe: Lee Stalvey & Parker Stalvey

Lee Stalvey and Parker Stalvey had the strongest season throughout all divisions in 2024. The Stalvey’s won 6 of 9 events in the Santa Fe division and had a pair of second place finishes to claim the division points title.

South River: Anthony Courtney & Quinten Farrell

Anthony Courtney and Quinten Farrell won four events in the South River division, February, April, May, and July, on their way to the division points title. They finished the season in second place to secure the race.

Suwannee River: Jason Pate & Chico Barnett

Jason Pate and William “Chico” Barnett battled back and forth with the rest of the Suwannee River division all season to claim the division points race. Pate and Barnett won the first event of the season, a pair of second place finishes and another win in the eighth event of the season helped secure the title.

Tarpon: Steve Mui & Richard Dunham

Steve Mui and Richard Dunham have won the division title for the Lake Tarpon division together the last 3 seasons. Mui and Dunham never finished below third place, winning 4 of 9 events, with a second place finish in the mix as well.

Toho: Chad Schroeder & Anthony Cilladi

Consistency was key for Chad Schroeder and Anthony Cilladi in the Toho divison this season. Schroeder and Cilladi were the only divisional points champion to not take home a win this season, but never had a finish below 6th place.

About Xtreme Bass Series

The Xtreme Bass Series is the largest grassroots bass tournament trail across Florida, featuring 14 divisions and 126 events throughout the 2024 season. Anglers can compete in close-to-home events on local bodies of water, keeping costs down and affording them the opportunity to compete in the end of season championship. Teams who compete in 7 of 9 events in one division, or 8 events in a combination of divisions will qualify for the end of season championship event. The 2024 Championship will be held October 31st-November 2nd at the St. John’s River in Putnam County.
