Small Field, Big Payout: Yavorsky and Creech Win at Rousseau

The CopperState Tackle Limited Team Open made its third stop of the 2026 season today, visiting Lake Rousseau in Crystal River, Florida.

The pre-registration-only series features a limited field of no more than 60 boats competing in a high-stakes team format. Teams vie for a 1-in-6 payout on a $600 entry fee, with a first-place prize of up to $10,000 on a full field.

A total of 18 teams launched onto the western reaches of Lake Rousseau, part of the historic Cross Florida Barge Canal system. Among them were Aaron Yavorsky and Parker Creech. While neither angler would consider Lake Rousseau their home waters, both live close enough to have spent time on the fishery and felt confident enough to throw their hats in the ring.

Yavorsky and Creech brought a five-bass limit to the scales weighing 27.73 pounds, securing the win and a $4,200 first-place prize. The duo anchored their winning bag with a 7.34 pound kicker to also earn big fish honors and an additional $450, bringing their total to $4,650 against a limited field.

Finishing in second place, Matt Wieteha and Nick Hoinig weighed in a strong 24.27-pound limit to earn $2,650.

Third place honors went to Dave Turner and Colby Robertson, who brought in a 23.51-pound limit to take home $1,700.

The event paid out a total of $9,000 across the 18 boat field. With a full field of 60 boats, future events will pay back the top 10 teams with a total purse of $30,000, including a $10,000 first-place prize.

Additionally, the top 15 teams from each event will qualify for the end-of-season championship on Lake Seminole, where a guaranteed $20,000 first-place prize will be on the line. Visit Bainbridge will play host to the event.
